Charity Car's Arms are Around Children this November
on 01 November 2016
Charity Car's Partner of the Month for November is Arms Around the Child. This inspiring charity believes in a world where children living in extreme adversity have their lives transformed into a bright future.
That feels like a lot to aim for when you read the charity's stats on the world's current crisis:
- 467 Million Children living in poverty
- 16.6 Million AIDS orphans
- 215 Million children in forced labour
- 18 Million children living on the streets of India
But, this charity isn't just paying the situation lip service. Arms Around the Child is currently supporting sites across Ghana, South Africa and India, following their success in other regions.
This month is also home to a special time of year for our charity partner. From 14th to the 20th of November it is World Orphan Week #WOW and Arms Around the Child is hosting the Feed Your Soul '16 campaign, to raise awareness and raise money for orphaned children, through a celebration of the best of London’s food culture and wellbeing communities.
If in fact you are one of our capital's soul heroes; that is, the businesses, enterprises and individuals working to nourish the soul through good food, good ethics/education, wellbeing and music, then get in touch with Arms Around the Child and see how you could get involved.
Feed Your Soul '16 has already led Arms Around the Child to reach out to some of London's favourite food businesses, bloggers, sustainability warriors, yoga studios and music promoters, to join forces in a soulful mission to nourish and enrich the lives of others. It sounds inspiring and here at Charity Car we can't wait to hear about it.
#WOW Funds raised over this week will go towards basic amenities at the refuge homes that Arms Around the Child supports in India, South Africa and Ghana, where orphans affected by HIV/AIDS are given the care and attention they need to build a brighter future. The campaign should enrich and nourish the lives of the children: mind, body, and soul. Healthy food, medicine, access to education, yoga and play are all aspects of what the charity offer the kids already and where the money raised will go.
Of course, the charity's fundraising isn't restricted to World Orphan Week, or London. Wherever you are in the country and whenever you hear about the charity you can donate. And we'd love to accept old cars on the charities behalf - turning them into funds for their vital work.
Arms Around the Child asks its supporters to stop the tears from flowing, to donate and use your voice. Because every child deserves happiness. We couldn't agree more.
