How so I sell my car for scrap?
Step 1: Get a Scrap Car Price
Simply enter your car registration and postcode to get an instant price for your car. We'll use your car registration to find out the type of car you have, together with your postcode to find its location, so that we can offer you the best price for your scrap car.
We'll also ask you a few questions about the condition of your car, so that we can provide a price based on what you tell us. There's no obligation and if you're not quite ready, your quote will be valid for seven days, giving you time to think it over.
Step 2: Choose Collection or Drop Off
With CarTakeBack, you'll be able to choose between dropping your car off or having your scrap car collected, whichever is easiest for you. If you drop your car off, there's no need to make an appointment, just arrive during your local CarTakeBack branch's opening hours. If you choose free car collection we'll get in touch with you to arrange to collect your car at a time that's best for you. We collect from anywhere, your home, work, a garage!

Step 3: Sell Your Scrap Car
If your car is ready to be recycled, it will be done so in line with the law at a licensed scrap car recycling centre. We'll even sort out all the legal paperwork and make sure you get a copy of the DVLA Certificate of Destruction for the car as proof that it's is no longer on the road. And if your car is sold for parts, or to be returned to the road, CarTakeBack will help you to get the DVLA paperwork right by ensuring that your registration certificate (V5C - the log book) is correctly filled out so that you're no longer responsible for it. It's important to do the paperwork by the book when you sell your car, so that you avoid an £80 fine.
