Scrappage schemes

Considering Ford are the biggest car manufacturer in the UK, the number one spot is no surprise. Although you can trade in any car make on a scrappage scheme, Ford's loyal customers most likely took advantage of their attractive incentives last year. The offer of a £2,000 reduction plus additional discounts on top, lead to a pretty sweet deal. In fact, a Ford Focus scrappage incentive last year could total almost £5,000.

These scrappage schemes are ideal for those in the market to buy a new car, offering the opportunity to cash in when they scrap their old one too.

The intention is to increase new car sales, and simultaneously reduce the number of polluting cars out there on our roads. With vehicles from a few years ago more likely to pollute the environment, car manufacturers are encouraging these trade-ins with financial benefits. If you opt for a low emission car as your new ride, you're likely to get thousands off the price with a scrappage trade-in!

Which scrappage schemes are still running?

With many scrappage schemes finishing at the end of June, don't despair - there are still a number of extensions.
