We're happy to be putting car scrappage back in the news this week, as some car manufacturers have announced that their scrappage schemes will be extended! This is great news if you've got an old car that qualifies and you're in the market to buy a new car.

Ford New For Old Scrappage Scheme
The Ford car scrappage scheme will continue running over the coming months, until the 30th June 2018. Depending on which model you're interested in, you can get discounts ranging between £2,000 and £7,000 off a new vehicle. With Ford's scrappage scheme you'll have the choice of thirteen car models and nine commercial vehicles.
The Ford scrappage scheme is open to owners of petrol or diesel vehicles that were registered after 31st December 2010 and you have to have owned it for a minimum of 90 days. All vehicles traded in under Ford's scheme are recycled, ensuring that there is a positive effect on the environment, true car scrappage.

Mazda Scrappage Scheme - Upgrade Plan
Mazda's car scrappage scheme will continue to run until the 30th June 2018. There's seven models available to choose from, depending on which you choose the discounts on offer range between £3,000 and £5,500.
The scrappage scheme from Mazda is open to owners of diesel or petrol vehicles that were registered on or before 31st December 2010, and you have to have owned the vehicle for a minimum of 60 days. All vehicles traded in under Mazda's scheme are recycled by CarTakeBack - ensuring a true car scrappage scheme.
