Car makers Citroën have announced that they have launched a scrappage scheme. The Citroën & DS Scrappage Scheme will be open to owners of petrol or diesel cars that are pre-2010. The scheme offers customers between £1,600 and £7,000 off a brand new Citroën or DS.

CarTakeBack is the exclusive official scrap car recycling partner to Citroën and DS and we'll be working with Citroën dealerships throughout the scheme to ensure that all scrappage cars are responsibly recycled.

Citroën state;

"You can trade in any make or model, all qualifying vehicles signed over to us under the Citroën Scrappage Scheme will be permanently taken off the road and scrapped responsibly, in conjunction with current legal guidance, by our recycling partners, CarTakeBack™."

Citroën and DS Scrappage Recycling

We have been working with Citroën since the inception of the government's End of Life Vehicle regulations in 2005. The regulations mean that all scrap cars have to be recycled at a licensed site and 95% of the vehicle must be recycled. CarTakeBack has met or exceeded these targets every year for the last 12 years.

All vehicles recycled throughout the duration of the scheme will be issued with a DVLA Certificate of Destruction, the vital document which proves that cars have been recycled responsibly and are no longer on the road.

Senior Sales Manager from CarTakeBack, Kathryn Byng said;

“Cars scrapped through Citroën's scheme will be responsibly recycled by our licensed operators. CarTakeBack's secure link to DVLA’s vehicle registration database provides vital evidence that the cars have been removed from the road and responsibly recycled. This gives dealerships the security and efficiency they need throughout the Citroën and DS Scrappage Scheme.”
