In the lead up to Christmas, many of us are focused on spending our money on presents, mince pies and tinsel, buying a new car is probably not at the top of our spending list right now! However, with some great scrappage scheme offers available, maybe now is the right time to think about purchasing that new motor… We thought we'd take a look at the scrappage scheme offers available right now.

Car Maker Scrappage Schemes

Here's a summary of which car makers have scrappage schemes available…

Ford Scrappage Scheme

Ford are giving motorists who scrap their old car, between £2,000-£6,250 off a new eligible Ford car or commercial vehicle, as part of their New for Old Scrappage Scheme.

When does the Ford scrappage scheme end?

The Ford New for Old Scrappage Scheme is currently available until 31st December 2019.

Which new Ford vehicles does the scrappage discount apply to?

Ford are offering the scrappage incentive on these models; KA+, Mustang, Fiesta Trend, Fiesta ST, Fiesta ST Performance, Focus ST, New Puma, Edge and all Zetec series across the range. There are also savings to be made on certain commercial vehicles, though the Transit Connect and Ranger Raptor are excluded.

Are you eligible for the Ford scrappage scheme?

The car or commercial vehicle you scrap as part of the scheme must have been registered before 1st January 2013. You must have owned the scrappage vehicle for at least 90 days. Scrappage must be arranged with a Ford dealership. CarTakeBack are the approved scrap car recycling partner for Ford.

Mazda Scrappage Scheme

The Mazda Scrappage Scheme - Upgrade Plan has been running since 2017 and gives drivers a chance to scrap their old car and get between £2,500 and £6,000 saving off a wide range of sub 144g/km CO2 emissions new Mazda vehicles. If you're really quick, cars registered before 30th November will receive an extra £500!

When does the Mazda scrappage scheme end?

The Mazda Scrappage Scheme - Upgrade Plan is currently available until 31st December 2019.

Which new Mazda vehicles does the scrappage discount apply to?

The scrappage scheme incentives are available on the following models; Mazda2, All-New Mazda3, Mazda6 Petrol or Diesel, Mazda CX-3, Mazda CX-5, Mazda MX-5.

Are you eligible for the Mazda scrappage scheme?

The car you scrap must have been registered on or before 31 December 2010 and registered to you for a minimum of 60 days. Scrappage must be arranged through a Mazda dealership and vehicles are recycled by CarTakeBack.

Citroën Scrappage Scheme

One of the most recent schemes to be announced comes from Citroën who are offering customers the chance to save £5,000 on a new eligible model, when they scrap their old car as part of their Swappage Scheme.

When does the Citroën swappage scheme end?

The Citroën Swappage Scheme is currently available until 31st December 2019.

Which new Citroën vehicles does the swappage discount apply to?

Citroën are offering the discount on the following models; C3 Aircross Compact SUV, New C5 Aircross SUV and C4 Cactus Hatch.

Are you eligible for the Citroën swappage scheme?

The car you scrap as part of the scheme must have been registered before 1st January 2013. You must have owned the scrappage vehicle for at least 90 days and the V5C of the part exchange address needs to match the new vehicle invoice. Scrappage must be arranged with a Citroën dealer and all vehicles must be recycled by CarTakeBack.

Renault Scrappage Scheme

The scrappage scheme on offer from Renault offers customers who scrap their car between £1,000 and £3,000 saving on a new eligible model.

When does the Renault scrappage scheme end?

The Renault Scrappage Scheme doesn't have a publicised end date.

Which new Renault vehicles does the scrappage discount apply to?

The scrappage scheme discounts apply to the following new vehicles; Kadjar, New Zoe, All-New Clio, Captur, Koleos, Megane, Megane Sport Tourer and the Grand Scenic.

Are you eligible for the Renault scrappage scheme?

The car you scrap as part of the scheme must have been registered before 31st March 2012. You must have owned the scrap car for at least 90 days. Alternatively, the owner of the vehicle must be able to show a direct relationship (parental, spouse or sibling) with the individual purchasing the new vehicle.

MG Scrappage Scheme

Not actually a scrappage scheme, the MG Swappage gives you a minimum of £2,000 swappage allowance when you part exchange your old car. Part exchange an old MG, and you will qualify for a £2,500 saving.

When does the MG swappage scheme end?

The scheme is currently available until 31st December 2019.

Which new MG vehicles does the swappage discount apply to?

The swappage allowance only applies to the MG3.

Are you eligible for the MG swappage scheme?

Your car must have been registered on or before 31 March 2012. You must have owned the vehicle for at least three months. Your swappage car must be 7 years old or more. Your vehicle must be taxed, in good working order.

Mitsubishi Scrappage Scheme

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Scrappage Scheme, is currently offering up to £4,500 allowance against an Outlander PHEV.

When does the Mitsubishi scrappage scheme end?

The scheme is currently available until 27th March 2020.

Which new Mitsubishi vehicles does the scrappage discount apply to?

The scrappage allowance only applies to the Outlander PHEV.

Are you eligible for the Mitsubishi scrappage scheme?

Your vehicle for scrappage must have been registered before the 1st January 2013. You must have owned the vehicle for at least 90 days. Scrappage is arranged with a Mitsubishi dealer and all vehicles must be recycled by CarTakeBack.

Hyundai Scrappage Scheme

The Hyundai Scrappage and Emission Reduction Scheme offers customers between £300 and £4,000 off a new eligible model.

When does the Hyundai scrappage scheme end?

The scheme is available until 31st December 2019.

Which new Hyundai vehicles does the scrappage discount apply to?

The scrappage scheme discounts apply to certain types of the following models; i10, i10 PLAY, i20, i20 PLAY, ix20 , i30, i30 N Line, i40, IONIQ, Kona, Kona Play, Tucson, Santa Fe.

Are you eligible for the Hyundai scrappage scheme?

Your scrap car must be registered before the 1st July 2012. You must have owned the vehicle for more than 90 days.

Kia Scrappage Scheme

The Kia Scrappage Scheme offers you up to £2,500 off a new eligible model.

When does the Kia scrappage scheme end?

The scheme is available until 31st December 2019.

Which new Kia vehicles does the scrappage discount apply to?

The scrappage scheme discounts apply to certain types of the following models; Picanto, Sportage, Stonic, Niro Hybrid.

Are you eligible for the Kia scrappage scheme?

The car you scrap must be registered on or before the 31st December 2012. You must have owned the scrap car for at least three months.

Toyota Scrappage Scheme

The Toyota Scrappage Scheme offers you £2,000 off a new eligible model.

When does the Toyota scrappage scheme end?

The scheme is available until 31st December 2019.

Which new Toyota vehicles does the scrappage discount apply to?

The scrappage scheme discount applies to the Toyota Aygo, excluding the X.

Are you eligible for the Toyota scrappage scheme?

The scrappage scheme applies to cars registered before 30th September 2011 and owned by you for at least six months.

Vauxhall Scrappage Scheme

The Vauxhall SUV Trade Up scheme offers you up to £5,550 off a new eligible model, when you scrap or part exchange your old car.

When does the Vauxhall scrappage scheme end?

The scheme doesn't have a publicised end date.

Which new Vauxhall vehicles does the scrappage discount apply to?

The scrappage scheme discount applies to certain types of the Grandland X and the Mokka X.

Are you eligible for the Vauxhall scrappage scheme?

Part-exchange cars must be at least seven years old. You must have owned the vehicle for more than 90 days. The deal is for cars ordered and registered by 26 November 2019.

Transport for London Scrappage Scheme

April 2019 saw the introduction of the world's first Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in central London. As part of the measures to help people affected by the ULEZ, the Mayor of London announced two Transport for London (TfL) scrappage schemes.

TfL Van Scrappage Scheme

The van scrappage scheme helps to support micro businesses, sole traders and charities replace vehicles that don't meet the ULEZ standards.
