Car recycling is what we do best, and when motoring giant Ford Motor Company ask you to continue to be their official recycling partner, you know you're doing something right! Here's our press release on renewing our relationship with them.

We're very pleased to announce that Ford Motor Company Limited has chosen to extend its successful relationship with CarTakeBack.com Limited – for the supply of car recycling services in line with the End of Life Vehicle regulations.

CarTakeBack’s role is to ensure that owners of Fords are able to dispose of their old cars conveniently, legally and without harm to the environment, no matter where they live in the UK.

“With Ford having the largest market share in the UK and, accordingly, the highest volume of end of life vehicles, we are extremely pleased that they have entrusted to us, the responsibility of making sure these cars continue to be handled correctly.” commented Graham Price on behalf of CarTakeBack.

CarTakeBack’s Authorised Treatment Facilities have issued DVLA Certificates of Destruction for all Ford brand cars received through the nationwide network and have been successful in meeting the 85% recycling target, in each year it has been required by the regulations, since its association with Ford began nearly ten years ago.

In 2015, the regulations step up a gear and require that 95% of each car is recycled. However, CarTakeBack is ahead of the game. Its contracted network and shredders have recycled sufficient material to satisfy the regulatory authority – the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) - and will be reporting that it has reached the 95% target, a full two years ahead of it being required by law.

When asked what could have influenced Ford’s decision, Mr Price commented “We’re certain that CarTakeBack’s proven ability to achieve the 95% target was a factor, as must have been Ford’s ability to closely monitor each and every car recycled through the nationwide network using our unique data collection and reporting system.”.
