Renault have announced that they will be offering a scrappage scheme to owners of pre-2010 cars. CarTakeBack is Renault’s exclusively approved scrap car recycling partner and will be working with Renault dealerships throughout the scheme.
The government's End of Life Vehicle regulations were launched in 2005, the regulations state that 95% of a vehicle must be recycled. Since the inception of the regulations, CarTakeBack has met or exceeded this target in each and every year. Meaning we've diverted over 600,000 tonnes of materials from scrap cars from ending up in landfill – including recycling over 360,000 Renaults!

We'll ensure that all vehicles are responsibly recycled throughout the duration of the scheme and that the all-important DVLA Certificate of Destruction will be issued to prove that cars have been recycled responsibly and are no longer on the road.
Senior Sales Manager from CarTakeBack, Kathryn Byng said;
“During a scheme, such as the one Renault are launching, under no circumstances can cars be returned to the road, in the UK or in any other country around the world – true car scrappage. Our secure link to DVLA’s national vehicle registration database provides vital evidence that the cars have been destroyed and responsibly recycled. Giving dealerships the security and efficiency they need during the Renault scrappage scheme.”
During the car scrappage scheme that the government launched in 2009, which gave customers a scrappage incentive of £2000 off the purchase of a new car, CarTakeBack responsibly recycled 240,000 of the 400,000 vehicles that were accepted through the scheme.
