Scrap car price update September 2016

The prices paid for scrap cars held steady throughout September at 73% on our index.

And with the summer now firmly behind us, prices remain at their highest point for the year, although compared with September last year, prices are 27% lower.

While we're fairly optimistic that a further increase could follow in October, it's likely to be small. This, combined with the uncertainty in the metals markets, suggests that we shouldn't rule out the chance of another sudden fall.
