Our day-to-day business is making sure we offer the best car-buying and recycling service to car owners the length and breadth of the UK… But while we enjoy working hard, we like to play hard too! To satisfy the adrenalin junkies amongst us, we’ve relished sponsoring racing driver Camey Dorrell, who took British Stock Car Racing Association (BriSCA) V8 Hotstox by storm in her debut season.
We are utterly thrilled to announce she has now risen through the ranks to be awarded the circuits’ highest accolade – the ‘Super Star’ grade!
For those of you unfamiliar with how this form of stock car racing works, a novice driver starts with a white top and as they earn more points the grades ascend, which are represented by different colour roofs. Yellow follows White, then Blue, Red and finally the Super Star grade, with amber flashing lights added to their red roof!
Super Stars have to start each race at the back of the field with drivers using force to pass the car in front and gain position. V8 Hotstox racing requires great skill to deliver and withstand the hits that are part of this formula and the winner is the first driver to complete the race distance.

In 2021 Camey finished her debut season with a total of 196 national points, 5 race wins and an overall position of 9th out of 43 racers! It was one hell of a ride and the whole CarTakeBack team were so proud of what she’d achieved.
Into 2022… Despite a few struggles with her car, including an engine blow in Scotland, Camey described the season as one that still contained many highs and it certainly was. As well as achieving several fastest laps throughout the season, she won her first final and the National Pairs Championship with Marc #149. Camey also qualified for the 4th row in the World Final and retained her red top grade all year!
And so we come to 2023. Despite only being half way through the season and a nasty crash at Hednesford, Camey has already had several race wins and won two Gold Cup’s! Earning the Super Star grade is a well-deserved reward and we’re sure you’ll agree those amber lights look pretty great on Camey’s car!
It was Camey’s gritty determination and inspirational performances on the track, particularly when against the odds, that secured CarTakeBack’s support in her first season and she’s only impressed us more as time has gone on. Our whole team has been delighted to watch this incredible young woman progress in this adrenaline-fuelled sport through natural talent and hard work and we’re delighted to continue our sponsorship and see what the rest of this season brings!
