Dodge began in 1900 when brothers John and Horace Dodge founded a shop supplying parts for automakers like Ford. They started manufacturing their own cars in 1914. Dodge has had a long complicated history in the UK, with its roots in commercial vehicle assembly plants and a more recent, failed attempt at reintroducing passenger cars in the late 2000s. A reintroduction of Dodge cars like the Caliber and Nitro between 2006 and 2008 was unsuccessful, and the brand pulled out of the UK market in 2010. That being said, the best-selling Dodge models in the UK were the Challenger and Charger, with the RAM also being popular, especially in the used market.
