With the introduction of Low Emission Zones in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, the Scottish Government has introduced disposal grants for non-LEZ compliant vehicles. As well as the scrappage scheme offers there is a loan offer also available
Households can apply for a £2,000 grant to incentivise the scrapping of a non-LEZ compliant vehicle. This will include an additional offer of up to two £500 mobility grants or Travel Better vouchers for people to purchase a bike, e-bike or public transport voucher.
Low Emission Zone Support Fund for households
For micro-businesses, the fund provides an incentive of a £2,500 grant per car or van to remove a non-compliant vehicle, replace it with a compliant vehicle, or to invest in an alternative mode of transport such as an e-cargo bike.

The interest-free Used Electric Vehicle Loan, funded by Transport Scotland (an agency of the Scottish Government) and administered by Energy Saving Trust, offers eligible drivers in Scotland an interest-free loan of up to £30,000 to cover the cost of purchasing a used electric car or van, or up to £5,000 for the purchase of a used electric motorcycle or moped. The loan has a repayment term of up to five years.

You must not scrap your vehicle until you have received a grant offer letter from Energy Saving Trust confirming your eligibility, otherwise you will not be eligible for funding.
